Seaproof dynamic Bend Stiffeners protect cable umbilical and flow line systems used in severe conditions, and thereby increase the life cycle of our clients’ systems.
Our dynamic Bend Stiffener is composed of a mechanical stress termination and a hose that is moulded in Seaproof composite material.
Seaproof delivers custom-made Bend Stiffeners specifically designed to fit the individual client’s application. We can supply single Bend Stiffeners or double-ended Bend Stiffeners, and hoses ranging from smaller single hoses to large-diameter flexible and/or split risers.
Seaproof’s specially developed composite material is designed to handle stress and—as compared with standard PU bend stiffeners—offers these advantages:
Compact Design
- The high strength composite significantly reduces the amount of material needed, thereby reducing weight.
- Smaller dimensions allow for higher density so fewer structures are needed to support the Bend Stiffeners.
Full length dynamics
- Fiber interface with mounting flange reduces the inflexible part of the unit to the thickness of the mounting flange so the entire length of unit is flexible.
Immune to galvanic delaminating
- The interface between mounting flange and the flexible segment of the Bend Stiffener is made of fiber only, meaning: no dependence of moulding force to metal structure; and, considerable weight reduction as there is no metal centre piece.
Fiber Reinforced
- Immune to crack propagation common in polyurethane. Seaproof composite has a firm crack-arresting structure.
